About T1D Ready

T1D Ready is a school-day diabetes care platform that brings continuous glucose monitoring, care logging, staff training records, emergency protocols, and family communication into one secure dashboard. School nurses see every student’s latest CGM reading, color-coded against that student’s target range, and can record insulin, carbohydrates, ketones, and treatments in a shared log the whole care team can rely on.

It is built for the people who carry diabetes care during the school day: school nurses and health aides, district administrators responsible for compliance and staff training, teachers and coaches who supervise students at lunch, at recess, and on field trips, and parents who want to know their child is cared for when they aren’t in the building. Districts run T1D Ready across multiple schools, while nurses, staff, and parents join with an access code from their school.

T1D Ready is designed alongside school nurses and district health coordinators, and is aligned with the school-care guidance published by Breakthrough T1D (Formerly JDRF), Beyond Type 1, and the American Diabetes Association’s Safe at School program.

Privacy is foundational. Role-based access gives each adult only the student information they need to care for, and a signed Business Associate Agreement covers every subscribing school and district.

Why I built this

Built by a T1D parent

I am a mom of a school-age child with type 1 diabetes, with a background in systems development, integrations and management in the dental health care sector. I built T1D Ready for a reason that I and most T1D parents will recognize: once your child walks into the school building, a lot of their care depends on systems that do not talk to each other.

Glucose data sits in one app. The care plan sits in a binder in the office. Staff training lives in a file drawer. And you spend the day hoping the plan you wrote is the plan being followed.

T1D Ready puts all of it in one place. The nurse sees live CGM data without calling anyone. Insulin, carbohydrates, ketones, and treatments are logged once and visible to the whole care team. Parents get the alerts and the same record the school works from. Compliance documents, training records, and emergency protocols sit beside the student instead of in a drawer.

I still start every conversation with a school as a parent rather than a vendor, because that is what I am.

In hope for a cure, until then keeping the good fight
